It is well known that similar polymers ‘like’ each other, and as such, tend to develop an affinity for each other. This will translate into the enhancement of certain characteristics within that particular polymer blend.
The similarity between polysaccharide polymers and the natural cellulose fibers of wood is extensive and well documented. The primary difference between the two polymers is in the rotation of one chemical bond. Otherwise, the chemical formula for both polymers is identical.

Lorama specifically formulates its Polysaccharide Resins to take advantage of this characteristic. Lorama Polysaccharide Resins are cellulosing, cationic and have an ionic attraction to the anionic wood. The strong alliance formed results in the development of vastly improved coating performance characteristics. These characteristics include improved adhesion; augmented penetration through improved wood-pore wetting, reduced grain raising, and increased stabilization of the wood cell structure.

The Lorama Polysaccharide Resin Technology induced phenomenon is observed in water and solvent based wood stains.
