Who is Lorama

LPR76 is the core product of Lorama Polysaccharide Resin Technology (LPRT). It is a uniquely processed film forming polysaccharide resin. It is a coactive resin, which forms a hydrogen bonds with the alkyd and stabilizes water molecules within the enamel coating.

LPR76 surrounds the dispersed water droplets impeding their attraction with each other, promoting steric stabilization of the water-in-oil emulsion. During water evaporation, LPR76 prevents voids and pinholes from forming in the film, and works to maintain the film’s durability and performance.

Lorama Thickener/Binder 29 (LTB 29) allows the joint compound manufacturer to make a pre-mixed product that is ready to use directly from the container. LTB 29 is designed to assist in developing strength and hardness, and promotes adhesion to reinforcing tape. LTB 29 also imparts rheology that will allow ease of application.

The Features & Benefits of Joint Compounds made with LTB 29 are:

  • Ready to use right from the container.
  • Excellent adhesion to wall board and tape bond.
  • Superb workability and open time
  • Spreads easily for quick application.
  • Taping and topping can be done with a single compound.
  • Superb sanding characteristics.

InkRes 33 is a water based polysaccharide resin that replaces the acrylic emulsion in water based, flexographic ink formulations. These formulations are ideal for absorptive substrates such as corrugated cardboard and paper. It provides cost savings, and is useful for increasing the green content of the ink formulation.

Benefits of Lorama InkRes 33 in water based flexographic packaging inks for absorptive substrates include:

  • Significant cost savings
  • Good clarity
  • No blockage of the anilox roll
  • Improved re-solubility of the ink
  • Easy clean up
  • pH independent stability
  • Compatible with a wide range of binders & vehicles
  • Manufactured from agriculturally renewable raw materials
  • No waste stream created during manufacturing process
  • Zero VOC
  • Non-toxic
  • Non-irritating to skin and eyes

The InkRes 33 Polysaccharide Resin can replace all or part of an acrylic resin solution and dilutes readily with water to effortlessly reach a typical w/b flexo ink viscosity. InkRes 33 is very safe to handle and complies with many indirect food additive regulations.

InkRes 33 has been used in Europe for the purposes of increasing the environmental sustainibility and overall ’greenness’ of inks for everyday items such as shopping bags and tissue paper!

By using InkRes 33 to make water-based flexographic ink for absorptive substrates, the user is given the advantage of both cost savings and environmental friendliness. Research for the uses and benefits of InkRes 33 reaches all around the globe, including France, Sweden, and the USA.
